Also, there are quite a few alternatives that appear to provide similar protections that people may have or used that might also be blocking it, including options from BitDefender, MalwareBytes, and Kaspersky, to name a few. I know that some of the threads I found some suggestions in, people said they didn't have cryptoprevent installed, but older CryptoPrevent versions also had a "portable" version, where it might not show that it was installed, but still have provided the protections. Just thought it was interesting, and might prove helpful to others out there that might have been having the same issue. I guess maybe it considers data folders to just have data and not programs?Īnyways, I was able to go into Advanced, and then Software Restriction Policy Editor and whitelist the Galaxy folder, and now Galaxy runs without issue, can update from within the app, and download and update games within the Galaxy Library! I opened the app, looked around, and found that %ProgramData% and %AppData% are protected locations (protected by CryptoPrevent). billed as "a robust anti-virus/anti-malware software supplement." I try to keep my computer protected, and sometimes I hear about something and install it, then promptly forget about it. Clicking on properties, I don't see the "allow" box you sometimes get when you download something from the Internet and Windows blocks you from running it. This app has been blocked by your system adminisrator When trying to run that executable, Windows 10 throws up an error. So, I browsed to that file, and think I found the issue, or at least one of them. Someone also mentioned about a specific file: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\redists\Galax圜ommunication.exe Connection to GOG Galaxy Communication Service was lost. I searched for the error, and found others with the same issues. I keep getting a fatal error whenever I attempt to run the Galaxy Client on my Mac. Connection to GOG Galaxy Communication Service was lost and could not be restored! GOG Galaxy will now shutdown." With the new version, whenever I tried to start it, it threw up an error. So I followed the link and downloaded the installer manually, and got a brand new version. Today, I started it again, and was told there was an update, but it couldn't download. Sometimes I can install them, but then they'd keep trying to update, maybe download a bit, fail, and keep looping around that same cycle.īecause of that, I hadn't run the Galaxy client in a while. Can someone please help me out on this instance?Įdit: Since I thought that's worth noting as well the "Fatal Error - Out of Memory" crash pops up every time it tries to load in the last cutscene of the first mission, "The Fall of Berlin" (or whatever its called, but yk what I mean). For the longest time I've been having issues updating games within Galaxy. So I've kept watching for that error, but I couldn't find any way to resolve it. No blackscreen, no Ubi Screen, no Intro at all. I just see the process plopping up for a moment, doing nothing, before it shuts down again and nothing happening. However, my problem gets a bit vere from there on.īecause I did install the LAA patcher and used it on the wic.exe file.īut then, when I try to start the game afterwards.nothing happens at all. Ok ok, so first of all, I want you to know, that I'm aware this issue is known to the game and I've seen a dozen of forums and websites offering me the LAA Software to fix this issue.
